Ecology
Grows in parks, pastures, gardens, coastal meadows, and deciduous forests. Prefers calcareous soil and has its growing season in May-June but can sometimes be found during the fall.
Notes
Edible mushroom but unfortunately often infested by larvae. Can be dried or frozen after pre-boiling.
Similar species
There are several species that can be confused with Calocybe gambosa, some of which are toxic, so be careful when identifying it!
