Ecology
Grows on the ground in broadleaf forest and spruce forest on nutrient-rich and calcareous soil.
Similar species
May be confused with Clitopilus prunulus, which however has dirty pink spore print. Funnel mushrooms usually have white to cream-coloured spore print.
