Characteristics

- Cap at first bell-shaped, then expanded with a pointed umbo, pale yellow with olive-brown to reddish-brown innately fibrillose streaks.
- Gills adnexed to adnate, yellowish-white to pale yellow, often with an uneven edge.
- Stem pale yellow, longitudinally fibrillose.
- Flesh white, with bitter taste.

Ecology

Grows with pine, sometimes with spruce, in coniferous forest throughout the Nordic region.

Notes

Gastrointestinal irritant, can cause temporary nausea.

Similar species

Similar to Tricholoma equestre, but that species has mild taste and usually yellower gills.
