Ecology
Grows with spruce in mossy coniferous forest throughout the country.
Notes
The taste is comparable to that of Hygrophorus olivaceoalbus and H. glutinifer.
Similar species
Hygrophorus olivaceoalbus, H. korhonenii and H. glutinifer can be confused with each other, but they are all edible. H. olivaceoalbus is the most slender species and has a more brown to olive-brown colour tone compared with H. korhonenii. H. glutinifer is more robust and browner in colour, and grows with oak.
