Ecology
Often grows among reindeer lichen with pine throughout the Nordic countries. Often appears late in autumn after the first frosty nights.
Notes
Edible and good, easiest to pick in dry weather as it otherwise becomes slimy and slippery.
Similar species
Hygrophorus olivaceoalbus may be similar but never has yellow tones in its colour, edible.
