Characteristics

– Cap reddish yellow to reddish brown with a darker centre.
– Gills distant, adnate to decurrent, white at first, becoming pale yellow-brown with age.
– Stem white to beige, slimy to sticky, with ring-like veil remnants near the top, darker below.

Ecology

Grows with spruce in calcareous coniferous forest and herb-rich moist spruce forest.

Notes

Sometimes stated as edible, but it is not included on any list of recommended edible mushrooms in the Nordic countries.
